About ME

My name is Emmi, I am a brummie, although my accent seems to be turning into a weird mix of East Staffordshire, thanks to living in Burton Upon Trent for the last 4 years. I am a 90's baby and forever an Emo kid. I am one of those crafty girlies that has to be dragged out of Hobbycraft. I found learning hard when I was little and my creativity was a comfort blanket. That's why it is my mission to empower all of you to fall in love with your own creativity.

My partner and I are navigating our 30's with my two step boy's who are growing way too quickly. I am a vegetarian foodie and I love cooking from scratch. Anyone that comes over is given a tour of the garden and must pretend to be impressed by my homegrown produce. I love animals of all kinds and will comfortably have a little chat with wildlife.

Growing up in the city, I now adore the slow life and think it's so important to appreciate the small glimmers. I am the biggest sweet tooth going but have turned into a self confessed cake snob. The treat needs to be worth it and that's why I'm here...

My Why..

Emmi's Kitchen was formed in 2020 when I was starting my life from scratch. Coming out of a marriage during Covid. Having to learn who I was all over again. My purpose of teaching in the EYFS was on hold for six months.  Due to being used to standing up all day, I needed a new purpose. I always found baking therapeutic, Soon midnight baking sessions were a regular thing and I became obsessed.

I realised that my baked goods were providing happiness for others in a time where joy was hard to come by. Then the light bulb happened!

My purpose is to enable you lovely lot to make any occasion special. No matter the reason, even just because it's the weekend. Life is for enjoying and in this hectic, busy world, where time seems to slip through our fingers. A treat can really brighten up any day and make a moment last forever. That is why I do what I do! Let me help you put a smile on your kid's faces, cheer your friend up, thank your dad for fixing that broken tap again! Make you slay the staff room snack offering. Or give you a pat on the back for making it to the end of the working week. I got you!

Core Value

No Nasties here!

In my home life I am doing everything I can to ensure myself and my family are eating from scratch. Using home grown produce as much as possible and quality organic ingredients. This is also a fundamental value in Emmi's Kitchen.  In an age where the ingredients lists in basic shop bought food could make you weep.

I am so passionate about providing products, that you can be safe in the knowledge. There are no hidden chemicals or gross gloops and preservatives inside. I am making conscious continuous moves to make as many homemade basic ingredients as sustainable.  When that isn't possible only the best ingredients are used. (Insert sigh of relief here.)

Family taught.

Anyone who knows me, knows the relationship I had with my Grandparents is so important to me.

They taught me how to be the person I am today.

A big part of our time together was creating and baking. My Grandparents were the top tier of hosting.

Every weekend they would be cooking up either meals for the community, friends and family or baking up something delicious. I grew up witnessing first hand the power of food and how it can bring people together.

I learnt so much from them in the kitchen and I feel it is my duty as their granddaughter to carry on their legacy. Sharing their recipes and creating my own adaptations. Building something special for a community of my own, just like they did.

From the best scones, to homemade sauces, jams and marmalade almost as famous a Paddington.

I thank my lucky stars every day that I have the ability to share my family traditions with yours.
